The Dometic Rarotonga Driveaway Awning is a high-quality, breathable polcotton fabric awning designed for camper vans. Left Hand (LH) versions for vans with a passenger side sliding door. It includes a 4-berth inner bedroom, which can be removed for more living space, and a front canopy that provides shelter and storage for wet/muddy items. An optional vestibule can seal the front canopy for more flexibility. The rear storage area helps keep the space tidy, accommodating tall camp beds and airbeds.

The Dometic Rarotonga Driveaway awning is the perfect addition to any camper van. The Breathable Polycotton fabric really oozes quality giving you a longer lifespan and a more comfortable environment to camp in. Designed to offer the perfect option, Dometic have done is give you two versions of the awning; The Left Hand (LH) model is ideal for a standard VW van which has a sliding door on the passenger’s side of the vehicle.
As standard the Rarotonga DA comes with a 4-berth inner bedroom so that no one is cramped up in the van. The living area is ample enough space for a table and a set of chairs but you can always remove the bedroom if you wish to increase your internal space. The front canopy offers you a space to shelter from the elements and naturally creates a great area to put your wet/muddy shoes. There is an option to buy an additional vestibule which allows you to seal in the front of the canopy and give you more flexibility on its use. A rear storage section at the back of the bedroom helps to declutter the rest of the awning and allow the inner tent to have a boxier feel for tall camp beds and airbeds alike.
The Rarotonga 401 DA is quick and easy to pitch thanks to its Multi Point Inflation frame: merely attach the awning to your van, pump it up and peg it out (as per our Pitching video on YouTube). Packing it away is just as simple, making it great for shorter trips as well as longer stays away. One of the things that is impressive about the Rarotonga is the level of spec that it has, whether it be the storm straps around the awning, the zip up curtains or the two doors on the tunnel section which allow you to access your van without going through the main body of the awning. Every main entrance on the awning also has a mesh door, so that you can increase the airflow into the awning without having bugs/insects in as well.
