Why Choose the Vango F10 MTN 2?
The Vango F10 MTN 2 is an award winning 3 / 4 season mountain tent designed for demanding use in harsh and unpredictable environments. Suitable for challenging UK conditions and overseas mountain trips, it delivers outstanding stability, protection and confidence when weather and terrain are at their most testing.
At its core is a classic 4 pole geodesic construction with five pole crossovers, creating a highly stable and self supporting structure. This design allows the tent to stand freely before pegging, making it particularly effective on difficult ground such as snow, hard packed terrain or rocky surfaces where secure pegging can be limited.
Stability is further enhanced by the advanced Axial Hub pole system, which connects the lightweight poles at key crossover points. This improves pitching efficiency, increases overall strength and allows flexible Vari Pitch options depending on conditions. Combined with PowerLite Plus 7001-T6 alloy poles, the MTN 2 provides a dependable structure capable of coping with strong winds and sustained poor weather.
Weather protection is delivered through the durable Protex 30D Ripstop Nylon 6.6 flysheet, selected for its excellent strength to weight ratio. Beneath this, the robust 70D ripstop nylon groundsheet offers a 6,000mm HH waterproof rating, while the bathtub groundsheet extends 10cm up the inner tent to protect against surface water and driving rain.
Designed with expedition style use in mind, the MTN 2 features high strength Dyneema core guylines, glove ready components and mini high grip guyline adjusters that remain easy to operate in cold or adverse conditions. Pre sewn internal loops allow the addition of an internal guying system to further reinforce the tent when weather conditions deteriorate.
Ventilation and practicality are carefully considered. Expedition doors allow exit via the upper section of the door when snow builds up, while flysheet door vents and zipped inner roof vents help regulate airflow and reduce condensation. The double vestibule design provides access from both ends, helping counter prevailing winds and offering generous storage space for kit intensive trips.
Pitching takes approximately 8 minutes, with the inner pitching first for rapid setup and the option to pitch the inner only in warmer conditions. When it is time to move on, the Fast Pack tent bag with oversized opening and compression straps makes packing straightforward and efficient.
With a trail weight of 3kg and backed by a 2 year warranty, extendable to 3 years when registered, the Vango F10 MTN 2 remains a trusted choice for mountaineers and expedition users who require a strong, free standing shelter that performs reliably across multiple seasons.
