Why Choose the Vango Helvellyn 300?
The Vango Helvellyn 300 is a strong and reliable 3 person backpacking tent, designed for campers who need enhanced stability, generous internal space, and dependable performance across challenging terrain. Featuring a semi geodesic construction, it offers a self supporting structure with an excellent strength to weight balance, making it well suited to year round adventures and organised expeditions in UK conditions.
The All In One Pitching system allows the inner and flysheet to pitch together, or flysheet first, helping keep the inner dry during setup. With a 10 minute pitching time, the Helvellyn 300 remains straightforward to erect while delivering added rigidity for more exposed locations. Colour coded poles further simplify pitching, making it easier to achieve a secure setup even for less experienced campers.
Weather protection is delivered by the Protex 70D flysheet with a 3000mm hydrostatic head, supported by fully taped seams for dependable waterproof performance. A durable 70D PU backed groundsheet, combined with a bathtub design extending 10cm up the inner, helps prevent water ingress during prolonged rainfall. The Gothic Arch pole structure increases stability and aids effective water run off from the flysheet.
Inside, the breathable polyester inner tent with mesh panels improves airflow and helps manage condensation for a more comfortable night’s sleep. Inner door vents and mesh covered side vents maintain airflow while keeping out insects. The multi functional flysheet door can be opened from either side or rolled away completely, creating a flexible porch area for shelter, cooking space, or storage. Internal storage pockets keep essentials close to hand.
Supplied with lightweight alloy pegs and a Fast Pack tent bag, the Helvellyn 300 packs down efficiently for rucksack carry and is D of E recommended, meeting expedition requirements for weight, durability, and ease of use.
