Why Choose the Vango Omega 600 XL?
The Vango Omega 600 XL is built as a true trekking base camp for longer expeditions and kit intensive adventures. As Vango’s largest Omega trekking tent, it combines a generous tunnel style living space with a flexible sleeping layout that suits group trips, motorbike touring and small families looking for a lighter, more compact option than a traditional family tent.
The classic tunnel tent construction creates excellent headroom and a roomy internal living area with plenty of space to organise and store equipment. A rear bedroom provides comfortable sleeping space for up to four, while the removable front pod adds an extra compact sleeping area for up to two, giving a total sleeping capacity of up to six when needed.
With the front pod installed, access is through the side door. When the pod is removed, you can open up the large front entrance, which can also be configured as a canopy using suitable walking poles or Vango King Poles, creating a sheltered outdoor space for cooking, sorting kit or relaxing.
For dependable wet weather performance, the Protex Eco Ripstop flysheet is made from recycled single use plastics and provides a 3,000mm HH waterproof rating with fully taped seams. Underfoot, the durable 70D PU backed polyester groundsheet offers a 6,000mm HH rating, and the bathtub groundsheet extends 10cm up the inner to help keep you dry in harsh conditions.
Comfort and practicality are supported by breathable inner fabrics and mesh, plus ventilation features that help reduce condensation. The tent also includes a range of thoughtful touches, including windows and privacy curtains, internal storage pockets and a clip in riser porch groundsheet that provides a cleaner, drier space for storing kit while reducing draughts and water ingress.
Pitching is kept straightforward with All In One Pitching, allowing the inner to remain clipped into the flysheet for quicker setup and pack down. The Omega 600 XL can also be pitched flysheet first or flysheet only as a simple shelter. With an approximate 12 minute pitching time and a trail weight of 7.5kg, it remains manageable for a tent with this much usable space.
