Why Choose the Vango Scafell 300?
The Vango Scafell 300 is a spacious yet efficient 3 person backpacking tent, designed for campers who want quick pitching, generous head height, and dependable performance in UK conditions. Ideal for group trekking routes, short camping trips, and organised expeditions, it combines practical design with a lightweight, rucksack friendly pack size.
With two identical poles, the Scafell 300 is quick and intuitive to pitch, removing the need to match poles to sleeves. The All In One Pitching system allows the inner and flysheet to pitch together, or flysheet first, helping to keep the inner dry during setup. A 5 minute pitching time makes it well suited to changeable weather or late arrivals on site.
The Protex 70D flysheet, with a 3000mm hydrostatic head, provides reliable waterproof protection, supported by fully taped seams. The Gothic Arch pole structure peaks at the apex to improve stability and encourage effective water run off, while the TBS® II Tension Band System helps reduce sideways movement in strong and gusty winds.
Inside, the breathable polyester inner tent with mesh panels improves airflow and helps manage condensation for a more comfortable night’s sleep. A durable 70D PU backed groundsheet with a bathtub design extending 10cm up the inner improves protection in wet conditions. The front facing porch provides covered storage for boots and essential kit, while internal storage pockets keep smaller items organised and within easy reach.
Supplied with lightweight alloy pegs and a Fast Pack tent bag, the Scafell 300 packs down efficiently for transport and is D of E recommended, meeting key expedition requirements for weight, durability, and ease of pitching.
